Quartz - Blades of Light Crystals Meanings and Properties
Alternative Names: Colombian Lemurian
Mineral Species: Quartz
Mineral Group: Oxides
Chemical Formula: SiO2
Crystal System: Trigonal
Typical Appearance: This incredibly pure and clear variety of quartz originates from Colombia and bears a strong similarity to Silver Quartz (the name given to material from a small deposit discovered in Brazil a few years ago). There are basically two forms of 'Blades of Light', one primarily forms as lasers, either long with extremely sloped sides, or short and squat crystals that look almost pyramidal. The second forms as prismatic crystals, with straighter sides, occasionally in groups and very rarely with double terminations. An attractive characteristic of both types are the pronounced striations present on nearly all crystal faces except the terminal faces. This quartz is sometimes referred to as “Colombian Lemurian Quartz”. Although there are definitely similarities, the energy and appearance are quite different from Brazilian Lemurian, and they do not have the frosted opaque surface, nor the coating of hematite that gives Lemurian quartz its slightly pink cast.
Birthstone: Aquarius (although in some systems it is considered an Astrological Stone for all signs)
Chakra Alignment: Crown; Balances all Chakras
