Kyanite

Iolite
Iolite is the gems selection of cordierite, a magnesium iron aluminum cyclosilicate mineral called after the French rock hound Cordier. As with a few other blue gemstones, iolite is recognized for its pleochroic residential properties. Pleochroism is an optical phenomenon where the gemstone appears to be different shades depending on the angle and light. Polarized light particularly presents iolite’s pleochroism. Ranging from deep blue to a purple color, the much deeper the color the better the iolite treasure is said to be.
